Day 3 of 18:
The first two days were good, but the third day was incredible!!! First we have to start
in Roswell, were I left David and the rest of the Dallas group sleeping at 5 am. I took a
few pix of his co-pilot before we left.
About 30 miles out of town I stopped to take sunrise pictures. After Katie took a couple
of shots, she turned to hand the camera to me, and asked what that was behind me. I turned
to look back over my shoulder toward Roswell (SW direction) and there was this glow in the
sky. It was just hovering. I took about 10 pictures of it, getting some real good
close-ups, but only one came out, the rest were all white? It never moved, then just
disappeared after about 20 minutes. I will be back next year. I have to, I think I was
probed by a UFO.
After we recovered ourselves, we were off to the Petrified Forest. We had a good time, the
Painted Desert was great and the police officer only gave me a warning for doing 16 over
the speed limit:-) Those National Park people take those 35 mph speed limits seriously.
Saw a dead cow with feet up, just outside the P.F. Park. Then onto the Grand Canyon. We
took a Jeep tour which went to some Indian Cave Painting and then sunset. Check out the
pictures.
Katie drove for the first time about 100 miles, and through the Petrified Forest. Off to
Vegas tomorrow.
We filled up for the third time and paid $1.52 p/g diesel at a Chevron station inside the
Petrified Forest Park. Used 14.061 gallons during 626.8 miles for 44.38 mpg. We drove 80
mph most of the day, because we needed to make the Grand Canyon by 3:30 for a paid for
trip.
Ps. the time on the pictures are off because of the time changes.
