Day 4 of 18:

From Katie:

Today we went to the grand Canyon again & had more fun today. I got a pair of earrings, a bracelet, and three rings. We then went to this store on the side of the road in the Navajo reservation. There we got a huge blanket for $10.00 it's beautiful, then got back on the road and hit Vegas around 5:00p.m. the Hoover Dam was a pain.

We saw the Radio City Rockette's @ the Flamingo Hilton, they were really Good. Then we went to Ceasar's Forum. I got a brown cowboy hat, a wallet and a pair of earrings. I didn't want to stop shopping.

Dad did some gambling. at the MGM Grand. He bet $20 and left w/ $31.25.  I made him stop after he broke even.

From Mitch:

We slept late, 7:30 for the first time on the trip, it was great getting a whole 3 extra hours of sleep. We then drove along the southeast rim of the Grand Canyon going east into the Indian reservation then looping back through Flagstaff.

We then went across the Hoover Dam, I was disappointed, we were planning for Katie to jump out to take a picture as we crossed the line and then jump back in. The traffic was real slow, backed up for a few miles. It was going to be no problem to get a picture, it was stop and go, mostly stop. As we crossed the dam, we kept looking for the state line, a welcome sign, a post with both the Nevada / Arizona sign, anything denoting the line, like I have seen in multiple movies. There was nothing there, nothing. About a mile past the bridge we found a welcome sign.

We got to Vegas a little later than planned because of the traffic. Took some good pix driving through town. When to the Rockette's show and got a few pix. Katie forced me to go, there were 18 beautiful young ladies and they could dance too:-) Then we walked over to Caesar's Palace, what a complex, everything is so big. We are staying at the MGM Grand, but Katie did not want to do the Amusement stuff.
