Dear
Mitch, Thanks
for taking the time to forward the links to me. I signed Katie's guest book and shared it with two of my
close girlfriends in the office. We're all sitting here in tears; it's so
touching and so tragic. Please
know that my prayers are with you and your family. And I put Katie on our
prayer list at church so that the strength of 5,000 people will be
blessing her spirit on Sunday. Bye, Teena |

I
am sorry to hear that you have another bad memory from 1999. Hope that
2000 is nicer and kinder to you. Looking forward to meeting you at R2K. I
am not sure if you are aware that Katie had Emailed my 15 year old girl
that things have been rocky with lately and I was very thankful that Katie
had some words of wisdom that she passed along to her. I had Stephanie
read your posting and she came up and gave me a hug, which has been a very
long time since that occurred. You did a wonderful job with that girl
please treasure that. brenda |

That would be wonderful. Her school is very small, but allot of the kids
have physical or mental handicaps and they come from all walks of life.
They have various scholarships and definitely have some needy kids.
Two of the kids that spoke at her memorial had speech problems, but very
big hearts.<< OK
Michelle will research it more and see if this is something we can do. We
have to check into the legal stuff as far as the raffle goes. Will keep
you posted. Thanks |

Katie's
last card
From: Mitch Perry <mitch@perrysys.com> |
|
This
is from the Christmas card Katie gave me. I may use the angel on the front
of the card for the model to put on her car, unless you know if she had
other plans? Front
cover Angels
bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold Inside Wishing
you all the special Blessing of this happy, holy season. Love, Your
Lil' Princess Dad, If
you ever pick up a Bible, Please read: 1
chronicles 28:9 And
Thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of the father, and serve him with
a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all
hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou
seek him, he will be found of thee; but it thou forsake him, he will cast
thee off for ever. Ezra
3:1-6 AND
when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the
cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem. 2
Then stood up Jesh-u-a the son of Jo-za-dak and his brethren the priests,
and Ze-rub-ba-bel the son of She-al-ti-el and his brethren, and builded
the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings theron, as it is
written in the law of Moses the man of God. 3
And the set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of
the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon
unto the Lord, even burnt offerings morning and evening. 4
The kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the
daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of
every day required; 5
And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, bith of the new moons,
and of all the set feasts of the Lord that were consecrated, and of every
one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the Lord. 6
From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt
offerings unto the Lord, But the foundation of the temple of the Lord was
not yet laid. Psalm
51:7-11 7
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter
than snow. 8
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken
may rejoice. 9
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10
Create in me a clean heart. O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not they holy spirit from me. Mitch |

Mitch, Here's
what is in the margin of my bible to kinda help explain these verses. I
hope they are typed ok :) >
Ezra
3:1-6 v2-3
The Jews build the altar as one of their first official acts. The
sacrifices were essential because they demonstrated that the people were
seeking God's guidance, rededicating themselves to living as he commanded,
and daily asking him to forgive their sins. v4
The Feast of the Tabernacles reminded the people of God's past protection
and guidance in the desert and of his continued love for them. v5
The people began worshiping God through sacrifices even before the temple
foundations were laid. After many years in captivity, they had learned
their lesson - they knew that God does not offer special protection to
people who ignore him. They realized the importance of obeying God from
the heart, and not merely out of habit. If we want God's help when we
undertake large tasks, we must make staying close to him our top priority. |

Because
I'm so entwined in my job, I don't usually get to read every post, of
every mailing list I'm on. I just read through Cathy's thread, went to
newbug.org, and saw "Katie's Gift." It was a moving experience.
As a father of 2, I send you my deepest condolences on your loss, and
admire your courage. Sincerely, The

Katydyd issue resolved
From: "Cathy Reynolds" <WCREYNC@wc.cc.va.us> |
|
Dear
Nbers, In
the clear light of a snowy Virginia morning, I realize I overreacted
regarding leaving the list. I have "talked" with Mitch Perry and
Mr. Lipton and the issue is resolved. All understand the pronunciation and
meaning behind "Katydyd" [Katydid]. Mitch,
though I never met your daughter, I know from reading postings and the
page in her honor that Katie was [and is] a wonderful person.
May God bless all who knew her and those of us who feel her
presence on this list and email! Now,
out to dig my way out of the driveway ;) Cathy

Katie's websites / Angelisa From:
Mitch Perry <mitch@perrysys.com> |
|
There
are currently 3 dedication pages for Katie on the web that I know of. I
have not done anything to our web site yet, but would like to change it
and add links to all of these sites.
I understand that sites move, change, etc. and I am not web guru.
So those of you that have pages for her, if you want to move them or don't
want them to be permanent, could you send the html to me, so I can put the
page on my site. I would like
to keep all of these permanently somewhere. Hopefully
Katie's car will be ready this weekend, and her wing will be added next
week. I am hoping to get a personal plate for Angelisa of R2Katie in
Alabama and then have the angel airbrushed on the back like Katie had
planned. Four
months plus to Roswell:) Mitch Current

Katie From: "Jean W. Yoon" <jwyoon@earthlink.net> |

Hi
Mitch, Just
wanted to say I can really empathize with what you and your wife are
feeling. My son was born on a
Christmas day and was only 17 when he and his best friend were killed by a
drunken driver going 80 mph in a residential street.
The only thing I can say positively is that time does
heal, and there will come a time when you will smile when you think of
only the funny and good memories. At
the time, a good friend gave me a copy of Kahlil Gibran's "The
Prophet", and it has been a tremendous source of help to me ever
since. In case you don't have
a copy, I would like to quote to you his passage on death: "You
would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek
it in the heart of life? The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the
day cannot unveil the mystery of light. If you would indeed behold the
spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life. For
life and death are one, even as the river and sea are one. In the depth of
your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; And like
seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring. Trust the
dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity. Your
fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before
the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour. Is the shepherd not
joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark
of the king? For
what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the
sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its
restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only
when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And
when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And
when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance". I
hope the above words will help, and if you have any questions or would
just like to exhange thoughts, please feel free to e-mail me
...............Peace, Jean |
