Today was just another travel day, with nothing planed except a visit to the Alamo when we
finally to San Antonio. The only really cool thing that happened today, is we went over 400
miles on both fill ups today (partially driven yesterday & today), finally getting over 30 mpg on
a tank. The visit to the Alamo was nice, allot pretty than I expected, with gardens all around
it and it seems completely restored, which I didn't expect. I really expected ruins with some old
canons laying around and such. A little disappointed that it was so well restored to pre-battle
conditions, but I did enjoy seeing the Alamo for the first time.
We then went for a walk on the Riverwalk, which was a big disappointment. I thought they did
everything "big" in Texas. We got there about 9 pm, the walkway was very narrow, crowded,
poorly lit. It was lined with bars and restaurants (the warehouse distinct in Dallas was much
nicer). The "river" was almost narrow enough to jump across, and was more like a circular
duck pond than a river. They had tour boats constantly running around the "canal".
On to SeaWorld tomorrow:)
